Designed by the Finot Group the Open 5.00 & 5.70 come from the same drawing board as Beneteau's Clipper yachts and Mike Golding's HUGO BOSS for the Vendee Globe 2008. (Amongst many others).
They are built to an extremely high standard and come complete ready to sail, including asymmetric spinnaker.
In France and the US the success of these boats have created large fleets with both competitive one design and club racing circuits.
Both the 5.00 and the 5.70 are designed to give fantastically exciting sailing but with a minimum of fuss. Firstly, the rig is simple, with a minimum of string but the sails are large and powerful. However the design and construction of the hulls ensures that the powerful rig is easily controlled; thus making it a joy to sail.
Both boats can be towed behind a family saloon and launching on a slip is as simple as a dinghy. 2 people can raise the mast and the keel of the 5.70 can be lowered using a specially designed winch.
